The path of the hero follows a particular route. The famous author and speaker, Joseph Campbell, noticed that the hero of all of the great stories from every culture and from all over the world took on a familiar arc.

Whether the hero comes from the Vedas of India, the ancient Middle Eastern texts of the Sumerians or Egyptians, the wisdom stories of America’s First Nations, or our modern religion’s books from Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity, the formula holds true.

Further, countless Hollywood scripts have followed this path. With the original Star Wars being among the most notable, and which Joseph Campbell directly consulted on.

This path is called, The Hero’s Journey, and we can also use it for our purposes here now in recovery,
